Goal: Strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase child literacy Mission: Champion the needs of youth in our community through support for mentoring,literacy tools, scholarships, and leadership training. Support and lift youths in need. Responsibilities: Develop team goals to achieve the club’s youth and literacy goals for the coming year. Provide scholarships to 2-3 high school seniors within our community. Select RYLA recipients to promote leadership skills in 2-3 students (sophomore/junior). Work with local schools and library to promote literacy through the purchase of books, library, identified materials of need, and support mentorship program in the local schools. Coordinate and plan the Rotary Speech Contest. Coordinate and purchase winter clothing for children in need in our local schools.
