District Speech Contest
The purpose of the District Speech Contest is to give youth a venue to share their ideas on life issues and experiences while offering suggestions of how Rotarians could improve their school and community. Hopefully, everyone will better understand Rotary principles and values, and the challenges our youth encounter while improving public speaking skills.
Principles like the Service Above Self; the 4-Way Test*; and the annual theme of Rotary International are often chosen for the speech topic. Download the current speech contest poster file listed below which explains the current speech topic, contest locations, dates, and prizes. Also download the registration form, the basic rules, and the judge score sheet.
Join your local high school and the local Rotary Club's efforts to expand public speaking opportunities for students.
*4-Way Test of the things we think, say, or do:
Is it the truth? Is it Fair to all concerned?
Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?
