Rotary International Monthly Themes

Did you know that Rotary International sets monthly themes aligned with its Areas of Focus to guide club activities? January is Vocational Service Month. Vocational Service is one way that members and participants can serve at Rotary. It involves using our professional skills and expertise to serve the community, promote ethical practices, and inspire others.

Upcoming February is Peace Building and Conflict Prevention Month. February 23, 2026 is the 121^st anniversary of the founding of Rotary Celebrating its founding, RI has set February 23, 2026 as Rotary's World Peace & Understanding Day with a focus on fostering peace and goodwill.

September 21, 2026 is the UN's International Day of Peace, which Rotary clubs globally often observe with peace projects, events, and dialogues.

Structure and Organization of Rotary International

RI Leadership consists of the RI President and the RI Board of Directors. Additionally there is the Board of Trustees.

2026 International Assembly for District Governor-elect training

Last week DGE Ariel Mondlak attended the International Assembly Jan 11-15 for District Governor-elect training in Orlando, Florida! The Rotary International Assembly (IA) in Orlando is an annual, mandatory training event for incoming District Governors-elect (DGEs) worldwide.

“The Councils” give Rotarians a voice in how our organization is governed.

Council on Legislation

Every three years, Rotarians meet at the Council on Legislation to review and vote on proposed changes to the legislation that governs Rotary. They consider enactments, which change Rotary’s governing documents, and position statements by the RI Board.

Council representatives

Each Rotary district chooses a representative for a three-year term. These members represent their districts at all three meetings of the Council on Resolutions and at the Council on Legislation during their term.

2026 Rotary International Convention – Taipei, Taiwan

Every year Rotary International holds a convention bringing Rotarians from around the world together.

The 2026 Rotary International Convention is in Taipei, Taiwan, 12-17 June 2026.

Zone Quarterly meeting for Assistant Governors everyone welcome

Rotary International is organized into “zones”.

District 7850 is in Rotary Zone 32. Rotary International Zones 28 & 32 is a four country, two languages, compilation of Rotarians in Bermuda, Canada, France and United States.

2026 One Rotary Cancun Summit

Zones 25 A&B, 28, 29 and 32 are holding the “One Rotary Cancun Summit” this year September 16-19!

2026 Institute: Arrive Thursday, Sept 17; Institute will run Friday, Sept 18-Saturday Sept 19

Looking for 2028-29 District Governor Applicants

Looking for applicants for the District Governor Nominee Designate (DGND) position!

District 7850 currently has the District Governor Nominee Designate (DGND) position open for this year! The DGND position offers plenty of time for a Rotary member who has been a Rotary Club President or Assistant Governor (AG) to learn and hone the skills to become a District Governor for the 2028-29 year.
